2010

i suck at opening speeches and it takes me an ample amount of motivation to sit down in front, uploading pictures and lots of diaries. I WOULD LOVE TO! but it just gets harder everytime! oh with the amount of stuff on my hdd, i'm sure it's enough to make a non-fictional journal to make it into the market.

bare with me readers.
i will, BE BACK

nippon new year 2009! (happily without fireworks)

as far as I remember, from where I came from, fireworks are a MUST on new year! well, NOT in japan. I'm just not used to the non-sparky atmosphere despite the loud noise from the streets in roppongi. nevertheless, happy new year dear readers!

Pictorial Journal of Nishi Nasuno

Despite my external hard drive in 'coma', I managed to extracted some from my deviantart! This is Autumn from Nishi Nasuno, Tochigi.

And to my surprise, this is the FIRST time I'm actually SEEING Mt. Fuji with my own eyes!

Yamagata

Yamagata-ken 「山形県」
3hours away from Tochigi, or to be exact, Nishi-Nasuno station. Hoped on the JR train, trying hard to save some money without taking the shikansen ride. As Yamagata is concerned, it's really YAMA-ness and yes, colder.

A visit to my Filipino sister, Gladys. We managed to coupe up with a few places without much yen flowing out of our pockets! Horraaaay for nature! XD First stop, Omoshiroyamakogen 「面白山高原」 Filled with autumn leaves impatiently changing colors, the freshing-waterfall is a not missed! We trotted around in our fake-crocs, around the edges. Praying that we'd never fall into the freezing water. Some adventure, I've gotta admit!

back with more after this short break!
............. yamagata [part 1] .............

and we're back!

That was for the morning and in the noon, we headed to Yamadera 「山寺」 - a very high-stamina-challenging mountain of temples, all the way up. Although we'd be huffing and puffing at the peak, the sight is just worth the climb!

These ¥100 konnyaku balls are rubbery-yummy for the autumn. Prolly throwing them on the road would send it bouncing up Yamadera!

Edamame/snowpeas ice cream at ¥300! Oishii dayo! <3>

view from the peak of Yamadera

Nasushiobara city, Nishinasuno

In commemoration of my first official post, I’m gonna make everyone take in a deep breath and exhale all the dirty air you have in your lungs! Ready? Go!
.
.
.
Ahh… that feels good :D

Introducing 栃木県、那須塩原市、西那須野
(translate: Tochigi prefecture, Nasushiobara city, Nishinasuno)
It was a stranger to me, yet after a month in this peaceful town, I must admit this is love! This is where I first got off the shinkasen. My apartment is so close the train station that I hear the shinkasen pass by every 15mins! Sometimes I could see sparks flying off the wires.. すごいでしょう?

My friends would say ‘welcome to the country!’ haha, and it is really the country! The greenery here is enough to take your breath away (oh-hold-your-breath) so country that a car is a necessity. This is not Tokyo! Oh noes!! God bless those who invented bikes! But that’s not gonna take me far for kendo <.<

Now into some sweet cravings I’m looking atm:

森菓チョコモナカジャンボ ¥126

Yummy… it says JUMBO! on the wrapper. It was sizzling hot outside so I decided to get an ice cream. This creation of wafer wrap with chocolate crunch and vanilla ice cream is a heaven!!! The fact that Morinaga’s chocolate only sells at ¥80 at a local supermarket, this is enough to satisfy my choco cravings!
